This is where it all started!
2019
In 2019, Laurence, our founder & director, embarked on a journey that would change his life forever.
Tired of the monotonous 9-5 grind, Laurence saved up and set off to explore the wonders of Australia. Over the course of 25,000kms, in the trusty patrol he purchased upon arrival, Laurence forged unforgettable memories, experienced once-in-a-lifetime moments, and made lifelong friends.
2019
His journey led him to Airlie Beach in the East Coast, where he found himself working on boats around the picturesque Whitsunday Islands with Ocean Rafting, after obtaining his boating license.
Subsequently, Laurence joined a corporate travel agency, where he met Dan, now one of our esteemed travel gurus. It was during this time that fate intervened, and Laurence crossed paths with Charlotte and Lucy. Little did he know, this chance encounter would not only lead to love but also to the formation of our exceptional team.
2020
Fast forward to 2020, a year that brought unforeseen challenges as the world grappled with the COVID-19 pandemic. Tours halted, shutters closed, and travel came to a standstill.
Recognizing the need to adapt, Laurence made the difficult decision to return home to the UK.
2023
With the Australian borders open to international tourism, Laurence saw an opportunity to share his passion for travel by launching Student Travel Australia in the UK.
Armed with years of experience, countless discussions with Dan (who continues to live the Aussie dream), and a burning desire to turn dreams into reality, Laurence made the leap.
